To use the skatepark each participant has to become a member and have read and accepted our terms and conditions below. Part of accepting our terms and conditions is that you agree to complete a form at your first session. If you are below 16, then your parent or guardian must also sign a consent form. Consent to Terms and Conditions
By agreeing to this you (and anyone else who might be able to bring a claim on your behalf) release Canopy Skatepark (together with its employees, contractors and officers) to the fullest extent permitted by law from all claims, damages, actions or demands related to the risks inherent in using the facilities at Canopy Skatepark.
Please be aware that by agreeing to this you, as a participant, accept that:
- You are fit and capable of participating in activities at these premises;
- There are risks and dangers associated with participation in activities at these premises which could result in bodily injury; partial and / or total disability; paralysis or death;
- You are aware of such risks and dangers and agree to be responsible for your own actions and involvement;
- The use of personal protective equipment is recommended for all participants; and
- Canopy skatepark and all its staff cannot be held responsible for any accidents, injuries or loss while on these premises.
- Failure to agree to such terms & conditions will void your membership. You may be asked for i.d. to establish your membership.
- Under 16’s in addition to becoming members must have consent from a parent / legal guardian . ( See the parental/guardian consent form below)
- Schools/ organisations bringing in groups of participants/learners will be given in advance of attending a group membership pass and supplied with consent forms for all parents/guardians/carers containing all terms and conditions which must be signed by the parents/guardians/carers before the child can participate.
Canopy Skatepark Terms and Conditions
- We recommend all safety equipment including helmets & safety protection must be worn at all times whilst in the skating area by all participants, regardless of age, ability or activity to reduce the risk of personal injury. In respect of participants under 16 years of age, helmets must be worn at all times when skating. Canopy Skatepark staff reserve the right to refuse entry and discontinue a participant’s session if appropriate safety equipment is not being used.
- All new participants, regardless of age and ability, must undertake an induction safety briefing before using the Canopy Skatepark facilities.
- You recognise the high risk of bodily injury; partial and / or total disability; paralysis or death involved with participation in the various sports undertaken at the Canopy Skatepark and agree to participate at your own risk and be responsible for your own actions.
- You agree that you are not aware of any injuries or pre-existing medical conditions that will impact your participation at Canopy Skatepark. Any such injuries or pre-existing medical conditions that may so impact your ability to participate, should be discussed with Canopy Skatepark staff before participation.
- You agree to waive all liability claims against Canopy Skatepark, its directors, employees and volunteers for any injuries, ailments or other damage to yourself whilst using the Canopy Skatepark.
- You agree to abide by instructions given by Canopy Skatepark supervisors & staff at all times.
- You agree to conduct yourself according to the rules and signage of Canopy Skatepark whilst on these premises and to take due care and attention at all times whilst in the skating area.
- You should not attempt to ride ramps or perform manoeuvres/tricks you feel are beyond your skill level.
- For safety and hygiene reasons no food or drink should be brought into or consumed within the skating area.
- No throwing of any objects in the skating area or anywhere else on the premises.
- Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times unless undertaking a bespoke coaching session with a Canopy Skate Coach and agreed in advance with parent/guardian and the Canopy team.
- No smoking, no drugs & no consumption of alcohol will be permitted on or around the Canopy Skatepark premises. Canopy Skatepark management reserve the right to refuse entry to any person(s) who are visibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Abusive, discourteous or otherwise anti-social behaviour in or around the premises will not be tolerated.
- Littering, vandalism or unauthorised graffiti will not be tolerated anywhere in or around the premises.
- Parents/spectators will not be permitted to enter the skating area & must stay within the designated spectator areas.
- Anyone wishing to assist their children in the beginner’s area should join the session as discussed and agreed with the Canopy Team member running the session. They may be asked to become a member and/or a paying participant and will be expected to wear appropriate safety equipment unless exempted by agreement with Canopy Skatepark team.
- Experienced skaters must respect that Canopy is a learning facility and may have sessions taking place where inexperienced skaters and beginners are also using the park. You agree to take care to keep your skating respectful and appropriate to all users and to take care of everyone else using the park particularly when they are beginners/learners.
- Payment must be made prior to participating in any session. Non-payment will be treated as theft.
- Refund of prior payment for a single session will only be given where 48 hours notification of non-attendance is given.
- Where a programme of sessions has been purchased, any refund for any missed sessions in that programme will not be given. In exceptional circumstances, Canopy Skatepark reserve the right to exercise their discretion to grant a refund.
- No refunds will be made for those leaving a session prematurely.
- Membership is valid for 12 months from the day of purchase. Membership is non-transferable. You will be notified in advance that your membership fee is coming due.
Failure to abide by these generally accepted terms and conditions or to falsify consent information will result in refusal of entry.
Canopy Skatepark management reserves the right to refuse entry at any point and to change the terms and conditions of entry.
