Canopy Skatepark is located in a large barn and is part of a wider project to rejuvenate a dis-used farmyard situated in rolling farmland with views out to sea in the South West of the Isle of Wight.
Within the barn is a purpose built facility designed to provide all weather skateboarding for use as a teaching, practice and competition space. The long-term aim is to reach an International audience by further developing the site to provide accommodation and other learning activities with a particular focus on physical and mental well-being in harmony with nature.
For the last 5 years, Hamish Fleming has run Don’t Rain Skateboarding with the purpose educating through skateboarding – “Eduskate”
He has 14 years background experience in working with learners of all ages and abilities, and in particular “hard to reach” learners through outdoor activities – www.dontrain.co.uk/instructor-profile
Hamish’s commitment is to the safe and constructive development of young people through worthwhile and healthy pursuit and is partnered by his family to further expand this contribution through the new enterprise.
